Who I Am

During my adolescence, therapy was a grounding experience that saved my life. It helped me see more of who I am and how I treat myself. The profound experiences I had made me want to give back. While I always wanted to be a professional musician, it was during this time I realized therapy is a lot like sharing my music with peoplein both cases, it forms connections. Only difference is, therapy is more personal and one at a time.

Before I embarked on my journey to being a therapist, I had dreams and aspirations of being a rock star! I'm a musician and an artist who writes his own music. Music was and continues to be a lifelineI love everything about it! How it can move you with only a few notes, a beautiful melody and just the right words to tug at those heartstrings. In the early 2000s, I used to play shows around the city, hoping to connect with other humans to share in the complex emotional world in which we live.

Later, I went to school completing an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Equity Studies at the University of Toronto, then completing a Master's Degree in Sociology at York University (specializing in sexuality, gender, race and music and how those things intersect).

After my schooling was complete, I navigated the corporate world working in Market Research for 15+ years. While I learned a ton during this time, I felt I needed to get back to a place where I was connecting with other humans in a way that felt more fulfilling for me.

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), trained at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy (TIRP), an accredited educational program with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I’m also a member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP) and my practice is regulated and supervised by their ethical standards.
